Honoring A Historic Season
Just in time to shift focus toward defending their title, the Philadelphia Eagles took a moment to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX triumph. The team held its ring ceremony on Friday night, commemorating the 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Head coach Nick Sirianni, Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts, and cornerback Cooper DeJean, who wore a custom suit honoring his Super Bowl pick-six, were among the many in attendance for the celebration.
“Our Super Bowl LIX Championship Ring represents the commitment, determination, and sacrifice of every member of our organization who helped deliver another World Championship for Eagles fans everywhere,” Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement released by the team.
“From the start of training camp to our celebration on Broad Street, this team was deeply connected on every level. Our players, coaches, and front office staff all worked so tirelessly throughout the season to raise another Lombardi Trophy. On behalf of the Philadelphia Eagles, I would like to thank Jason of Beverly Hills for their expertise and craftsmanship around the design of this truly magnificent ring. It will forever serve as a reminder of just how magical the 2024 season was for our organization and fans.”
A Ring Full Of Meaning
Designed in collaboration with Jason of Beverly Hills, the rings highlight numerous symbols tied to the Eagles’ 2024 campaign and the franchise’s legacy. Front and center are two Lombardi trophies representing the team’s titles under Lurie, each crafted with one carat of marquise-shaped diamonds symbolizing the Eagles’ No. 1-ranked defense and rushing offense last season.
One unique feature is a button that reveals wings on the ring, along with a signature phrase from Sirianni: “You can’t be great without the greatness of others.” Inside the ring is a Brazilian flag marking the team’s season-opening game in São Paulo. Below it are the core values: “TOUGH, DETAILED, TOGETHER,” followed by the final scores of all four postseason games and a “145” stamp for the team’s total playoff points.
Additional design elements include:
- Five diamonds on the wing-release button for the five players who scored in the Super Bowl: Hurts, DeJean, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Jake Elliott
- 0.9 carats of diamonds on the wings, representing six sacks and three turnovers by the defense
- 40 points of diamonds in the “WORLD CHAMPIONS” engraving, reflecting the 40 points scored against the Chiefs
- 18 green stones circling the top of the ring to honor the team’s 18 total wins across the regular season and playoffs
- 145 diamonds on the bezel, another nod to the postseason point total
- A Super Bowl LIX logo on the side with 10 points of diamonds for the team’s 10-game regular-season win streak
With the rings now in hand, the Eagles mark the end of a championship season while turning their attention to what’s ahead. Philadelphia reports to training camp on July 22 for both rookies and veterans. From here, the focus shifts to pursuing another title, and adding even more hardware.
