After a year away from the gridiron, veteran wide receiver Hunter Renfrow is making his NFL return. This time with the Carolina Panthers, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Sunday.
The Panthers later confirmed the move. A former fifth-round pick out of Clemson in 2019, Renfrow quickly carved out a role with the Las Vegas Raiders. Emerging as a reliable slot receiver. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2021 after a standout season.
Renfrow’s role diminished sharply following the arrival of head coach Josh McDaniels. Limited opportunities and a reduced workload over the past two seasons ultimately led to his release after the 2023 campaign.
During his time with the Raiders, Renfrow totaled 269 catches for 2,884 yards and 17 touchdowns across 73 games.
The Panthers are hopeful that Renfrow’s experience and skill set can help support young quarterback Bryce Young, who is heading into his third NFL season.
Carolina also invested heavily in its receiving corps during the 2025 NFL Draft, selecting Arizona standout Tetairoa McMillan with the No. 8 overall pick.
Renfrow now joins a wide receiver room headlined by veteran Adam Thielen, rookie Xavier Legette and David Moore. Adding depth, leadership and sure-handed reliability to the Panthers’ offense.
