Remembering Jim Irsay’s Legacy
Jim Irsay passed away on May 21 at the age of 65. He had led the franchise since 1997 and left a lasting imprint on both the city of Indianapolis and the NFL community as a whole.
Irsay made NFL history in 1984 when, at just 25 years old, he became the league’s youngest general manager. He eventually assumed the role of principal owner in 1997. During his leadership, the Colts reached the postseason 16 times, claimed two AFC championships, and secured one Super Bowl title.
Colts to Wear Memorial Patch in 2025 Season
On Tuesday, the Colts also announced plans to wear a commemorative jersey patch in honor of Irsay throughout the 2025 NFL season.
