Hall Anticipates First Matchup Against Rodgers
“We owe the Steelers one,” Hall said, referencing the Jets’ 37-15 defeat to Pittsburgh last October, per Matthew Marczi of Steelers Depot. “They got us last year. I’ve got to get Aaron. I’ve got to get Aaron, play him first game.”
Breece Hall Reflects on Time With Rodgers
Jets running back Breece Hall shared insight into his relationship with Rodgers during an appearance on the “Get Got Pod with Marshawn Lynch & Mike Robinson.”
“Very misunderstood person,” Hall said about Rodgers, according to Troy Montgomery of Steelers Depot. “Great dude. Comes off to people a certain way, but once you really get to know him, you realize how good of a person he is. Last year, when you’re losing games, the blame gets put on the faces of the team.”
Following confirmation that the Jets would part ways with Rodgers at the start of the current league year, several players, including running back Isaiah Davis and linebacker Quincy Williams, publicly voiced support for the veteran quarterback. As far back as January, some in the locker room even advocated for Rodgers to remain with the team for another season.
Teammate Support Despite Team Struggles
NFL insider Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated later observed that Rodgers’ teammates “mostly have loved him over the years.” Hall appeared to be among that group.
“When you’re losing,” Hall continued, “somebody has to get let go, but what people don’t realize is, when stuff is crazy organizationally, then it’s hard for players to have stability and win games. I love Aaron, me and him still have a great relationship to this day. That’s my guy.”
Rodgers’ Fresh Start in Pittsburgh
Rodgers has reportedly “pleasantly surprised” Steelers players and coaches with the influence he’s had on the team’s “vibe” during mandatory minicamp practices. Looking ahead, the Steelers and Rodgers are preparing to face his former team, the Jets, in the season opener scheduled for September 7.
